With a love of all things Hawaiian deep in my heart, I wanted to bring forth an awareness of some of the most special things, in my opinion, that the beautiful Aloha State has to offer. I have listened to Hawaiian music almost my entire life, inheriting a love of it from my mother, who used to play Alfred Apaka records endlessly. I knew the words to the Hawaiian songs before I even knew what the words meant.

My love for Hawaii took me there several times in the very early 1970's and then I stayed there for over 25 years, living on the island of Maui. To this day that island holds a very special place in my heart.
